What Factors Determine The Parting Surface Of A Plastic Mold
The so-called parting surface is the surface where the mold is opened to take out the product. The selection of parting surface is also the first step of mold design. It is affected by many factors such as product shape, appearance, wall thickness, dimensional accuracy, and mold cavity number. Whether the selection of the parting surface of the plastic mold is reasonable is related to the service life of the plastic mold, the structure of the plastic mold, and the ejection of the plastic product. These can be said to be a very important process.
1. To be conducive to the processing and production of plastic product mold inserts, inner molds or other molded parts. Conducive to the matching of plastic molds.
2. The parting surface of the plastic mold should be as simple as possible without too many level skips. Too many level skips will not only make it difficult to process injection mold parts, but also the difficulty of mold clamping will greatly increase.
3. It is beneficial to ensure the surface quality of plastic products, or to eliminate the defects of plastic products in the injection molding process. For example, different parting surfaces may cause differences in the positions of the jaws and bonding lines of injection molded products, especially for electronic plastic molds with high assembly requirements.
4. In many cases, different parting surfaces may cause great changes to the mold structure. Therefore, when selecting the parting surface of the plastic mold, we should meet the requirements of the product, and use the parting surface of the optimized mold structure as the first choice.
5. Facilitate the ejection of plastic products. This is the most basic requirement. If the parting surface of the plastic mold is unreasonably selected, it may cause the plastic products to appear undercut and make the mold impossible.
